Friends of Loewenstein Hospital Association
The Friends Association was established in 1985 after the Lebanon War, due to the difficult economic situation existing in Israel, which significantly affected the health system.
The Association is an external and independent body, dedicated to assist the hospital in its continual operation and special projects, including the welfare of the patients and their families. Among other things, the Association aids in the purchase of crucial medical equipment and accessories.
The association is active in increasing local awareness of the hospital and its needs, by holding gala evenings to raise funds.
One of our projects was to help in the finance of a modern, state of the art Hydro ling Pool, also, an educational center for children age from 3 to 17. The center is an inseparable part of the children’s ward.
Another current special project of the Association is the building of a children’s playground, equipped with slides and swings specially adapted to the needs of the handicapped.
Presently, the Association’s main goals, in addition to the routine assistance in purchasing equipment, is assisting in the building of a new wing, improving services and helping maintain the hospital as a leading institution with a worldwide reputation.
Members of the executive board of the Friends Association are all from the leading parts of the Israeli industry and economy, and are doing their job voluntarily.
The chairman of the board is Mr. Erez Meltzer,
The CEO of The Friends Association is Mrs. Shula Malik.
